WASHINGTON, D.C.—Late last week, the House of Representatives held two votes key to President Biden’s radical agenda. Months of brinksmanship between progressive and moderate Democrats made it clear that the popularity of infrastructure was simply a ruse to enable a larger socialist agenda – within provisions of the “infrastructure” bill and in the subsequent “social infrastructure” bill. Despite the clarity provided by President Biden and Speaker Pelosi that the two bills are linked, 13 House Republicans crossed the aisle to supply votes that enabled passage of the first component.
After voting against the bill, Ohio Rep. Warren Davidson (R) made the following statement:
“After months of holding the infrastructure bill hostage, House Democrats finally decided to move forward. Americans can see that Democrats used infrastructure as a Trojan Horse to advance a spending agenda that favors blue states and cities and provides “green” tax breaks for wealthy Americans.
I've long favored a narrowly tailored infrastructure package to upgrade our nation’s roads, bridges, and ports. However, I could not support this pork-laden bill, especially when Democrats have been so transparent that it is simply a means of delivering their next bad idea. I’m disappointed, but this has renewed my resolve that Republicans unite to oppose their Build Back Better Act. Whether the vote is in 6 minutes, 6 days, or 6 weeks (as Biden referenced), it’s an evil act aimed at fundamentally remaking America.”
