In Congress, I am currently the Chairman of the National Security & Illicit Finance subcommittee, part of the House Financial Services Committee. I also serve on the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

I was born and raised in Ohio. After high school, I enlisted in the Army and later earned an appointment to West Point. After graduation, it was an honor to serve as an infantry officer in The Old Guard, the 75th Ranger Regiment, and the 101st Airborne Division. After the Army, I earned an MBA from the University of Notre Dame and spent 15 years starting, acquiring, and growing manufacturing companies in Ohio.

My wife Lisa and I have been married for 30 years and have two adult children
