WASHINGTON, DC - Congressman Warren Davidson (OH08) issued the following statement after voting no on H.R. 397, The Rehabilitation for Multiemployer Pensions Act.

“Ohio families affected by the multiemployer pension plan crisis deserve to be made whole by those who have reneged on their promises. The legislation voted on today fails these suffering families and retirees. Not only is this legislation flawed, but the Democrat-led majority in the House refused to accept amendments. This bill is also dead on arrival in the Senate. For these reasons, I voted no. We need a bipartisan legislative solution that holds bad actors accountable, not a plan that puts taxpayers on the hook to cover for unrealistic promises and poor pension management decisions.”
