WASHINGTON, DC - Congressman Warren Davidson (OH08) issued the following statement after voting against the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2019, which will add nearly $2 trillion to the federal debt over the next 10 years.

“I voted against this bill because it is not compassionate to bankrupt America,” Congressman Davidson said. “When families get close to their credit limit, they don’t just increase the limit, they reduce spending. Instead, this dangerous deal both increases the debt limit and increases spending.”

“Today’s $22.5 trillion national debt is already a trillion dollars larger than the entire U.S. economy. This is a national security threat, a risk to our economy, and harmful to Ohio families. We should return to the negotiating table to reach an agreement to cut spending, balance our budget, and get our crumbling fiscal house on a sustainable foundation.”
