WASHINGTON, DC - Congressman Warren Davidson (OH-08), House Financial Services member, reacted to the nearly fifty bills combating the opioid crisis that recently passed the House; including the Support for Patients and Communities Act, a bill that serves as the vehicle these bills to move to the Senate, which passed the House today.
“While the savageness of this drug epidemic rages across the country there are rays of hope in Ohio.
“This time last year, Middletown, Ohio was under siege to an exploding drug crisis. Today, the people of Middletown are taking to the streets to work together with law enforcement, and the tide is turning. As the community fights back, drug overdoses are down 65 percent from what they were last year.
“We all know that bills passed in Washington alone will not stop this epidemic, but they will provide the tools and resources necessary to help. We all have a part to play in rising up and compassionately defeating this crisis.”
