WASHINGTON, DC - Today, Congressman Warren Davidson (OH-08) released the following statement after voting yes on an amendment H.J.Res 2 to balance the budget which failed to pass the House.

 

“America is the land of hope and opportunity, with values that stand as a glowing beacon of freedom to the rest of the world. Over the years, our great country has soared from prosperous surpluses, to balance, and now to $21 trillion deficits and runaway spending. Washington has an unfortunate addiction to feverishly spending borrowed money which is fatal for our country. I’ve traveled across the Eighth District regularly and the message is crystal clear – Ohio families are looking for real leadership to cut spending and reduce deficits.

 

“I believe balancing America’s budget is a good step forward to addressing our spending crisis, and I’m disappointed my colleagues across the aisle chose not to support it.”
