WASHINGTON, D.C.— Today, the Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, Patrick McHenry (NC-10), announced that Rep. Warren Davidson will serve as the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Housing and Insurance. The Subcommittee on Housing and Insurance has oversight of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and U.S. housing policy. The subcommittee handles matters related to homeownership, rural housing, rental housing, community and economic development, homeowner insurance and government-sponsored insurance programs, such as the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act (TRIA) and the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).

Following the announcement, Congressman Davidson made the following statement:

“It is an honor to be selected by Chairman McHenry to be the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Housing and Insurance. Insurance is one of Ohio's largest industries, with over 111,000 Ohioans working in the industry and 275 insurance companies in the state.

I look forward to working with my colleagues on the Financial Services Committee to strengthen public policy within this jurisdiction by solving problems that help these markets better serve the American people."

Chairman McHenry made the following statement, “I’m proud to announce Congressman Warren Davidson as the Chairman of the Housing and Insurance Subcommittee and Vice Chair of the Digital Assets Subcommittee. While Congressman Davidson is new to my leadership team, his work last Congress on the Artificial Intelligence Task Force shows he is ready to take on this new challenge. Warren has always been a constructive voice in the world of technology policy, and I look forward to seeing him apply his unique skillset to this new role.”
