WASHINGTON, D.C. - Rep. Warren Davidson (R-OH) released the following statement after news broke of the shooting of House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, aides, and Capitol Police at a softball practice:

 

“My prayers are with Steve and all those affected by today’s shooting. I was not personally there, but it is still unsettling that my colleagues were targeted in this attack. The heroic actions of the Capitol Police prevented a more tragic incident. Thank you to all those who reached out concerning my safety. Please pray for Congress and our nation that the Lord may heal our land.”
