WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, the House of Representatives passed H.R.6929, the Susan Muffley Act. This bill would restore the full vested monthly benefits of nearly 20,000 Delphi Retirees. The U.S. Pension Benefit Guarantee Corporation (PBGC) unfairly cut retirement benefits when General Motors (GM) filed for bankruptcy during the Great Recession.

After voting in support of this legislation, Representative Davidson (R-OH) made the following statement:

“Today, I am proud to stand united in restoring these benefits for the thousands of Americans, and over 5,000 Ohioans, who have earned the right to retire with dignity,” said Rep. Davidson.

“After years of committed careers, thousands of Americans were unfairly robbed of their hard-earned benefits when the Obama administration unlawfully seized the assets in their pension fund. This legislation is the right step to ensure hardworking Americans receive the benefits they deserve.”

Representative Warren Davidson is an original co-sponsor of H.R.6929.
