WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today the House of Representatives narrowly passed the Health and Economic Recovery Omnibus Emergency Solutions (HEROES) Act. The $3 trillion relief bill would be the largest such bill in history, but is unlikely to move past the Republican-controlled Senate.

Congressman Warren Davidson (R-OH) voted against the bill. After the vote, he said:

“By passing this bill, Democrats concede that Americans will have to settle for high unemployment, a shrinking economy, and diminished representation in Congress. They also couldn’t resist the opportunity to push for partisan objectives like federalizing election laws, sending cash to illegal immigrants, releasing federal prisoners, forgiving student loans, and giving bailouts to special causes while targeting small businesses with new mandates. Speaker Pelosi’s actions are shameful and hyperpartisan at a time when we need unity as we safely return to greatness in our civic, economic, and social interactions.”
