WASHINGTON D.C.—Today the U.S. House of Representatives passed the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Trade Agreement (USMCA). This bipartisan vote (385-41) advances the USMCA to the Senate, which is likely to pass it.

President Trump led the effort to improve NAFTA and complete this trade deal, which puts U.S. companies on better footing for trade in North America and offers better protections for workers across the continent.

Congressman Warren Davidson (R-OH), member of the USMCA Whip Team and ardent supporter of the deal, made the following comments after the vote:

I’m thrilled that the House did something that will benefit the American people. America’s farmers and businesses have waited in limbo for Congress to finish this trade deal. USMCA gives American companies the certainty they need to plan for the future and make strategic investments that will grow our economy. This is wonderful for Ohio’s 8th District—our farmers and manufacturers needed this action for a long time—and it will certainly boost businesses across the country.
