WASHINGTON, DC - Congressman Warren Davidson (OH-08) released the following statement concerning his vote as the Farm Bill.

"I'm thankful the House passed a Farm Bill that includes work requirements for able-bodied adults receiving SNAP benefits. The Senate needs to include these reforms in their version of the Farm Bill.

“While I had hoped for a more fiscally responsible Farm Bill, I am pleased to see my amendment to repay our deficit with unused funds was included. I believe that with a strong economy and low unemployment we should see a decrease in welfare spending and not an increase.

“I am also pleased to see further responsible reforms put in place that strengthen market-oriented crop insurance programs which are important to farmers in Ohio’s Eighth District.”
