WASHINGTON, DC - In case you missed it, Congressman Warren Davidson (OH-08) released the following statement on President Trump's recent trade actions. Today, he was also invited to discuss his experiences as a manufacturer in Ohio with Liz Claman of Fox Business News. Prior to Congress, Davidson spent fifteen years starting and growing manufacturing companies in Ohio where he experienced the harmful effects of bad trade policy firsthand.

"I appreciate President Trump taking action on unfair trading practices, however I fear the broad and sweeping nature of these tariffs disrupts growth in the broader economy and unites others against the United States when we need to unite them to take action against bad actors. I am pleased the President listened to Congress concerning exemptions for Canada and Mexico. This action makes clear that there are exceptional benefits to working with the U.S. and is a first step to improving NAFTA and our other trading relationships. I look forward to working with colleagues in Congress and with the Administration to ensure that trade serves its historically vital role."
