WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Warren Davidson (OH-08) released the following statement on the President’s State of the Union Address:

“I was pleased to hear President Trump talk about the enormous progress on the economic front. Unemployment is at a 17-year low and over 3 million people have received a raise or bonus since the tax package passed in December. The positive impact of these reforms is being felt today by Ohio families and American companies alike including workers at every level of the economy. Cutting taxes for job creators is giving our economy the shot in the arm it needs to get moving again.

“President Trump also spoke about restoring America’s strength and standing abroad. Since he took office, ISIS has lost nearly 100 percent of the territory it once controlled in Iraq and Syria. While this good news is promising, there is still much more work to be done.

“I hope that Democrats listen to the President’s invitation to work across party lines with Republicans to find common ground on policies like modernizing our infrastructure, securing our border with Mexico, and fighting for free, fair and reciprocal trade. Only by working together can we solve our country’s biggest problems and move our country forward.”
