WASHINGTON, D.C.—This morning, the House of Representatives passed the Build Back Better Act (H.R. 5376), which passed on a party-line vote.

Rep. Warren Davidson (R-OH) voted against the bill.

After voting “no” the Congressman made the following statement:

“This is a Build Back Bankrupt bill. As Americans suffer from spiraling inflation, President Biden and Congressional Democrats have voted to pour trillions of dollars into the economy. You never pour gas onto a fire, but that is exactly what this money will do for rising prices. Though the CBO cost estimate for this bill is obscured by budget gimmicks, even the CBO admits that the bill will actually add to the deficit. This bill is fiscally irresponsible and morally flawed.

“Right now, America needs more freedom and less government. Build Back Better delivers a potentially fatal dose of government in the form of Bernie Sanders' agenda. Dozens of new government programs undermine the dignity of work and make more Americans dependent on an ever-expanding government. I remain opposed to this reckless spending and hope that cooler heads will prevail in the Senate.”
